A home inspection is an important step in the process of buying a house, as it helps identify any potential issues or problems with the property before you finalize the purchase. There are many reasons why it is crucial to have a home inspection done, and in this blog, we will discuss some of the most important benefits of this process.
  1. Identify Hidden Problems: A home inspector has the training and expertise to identify problems with the property that may not be immediately visible to the naked eye. They will check everything from the roof to the foundation, ensuring that the property is in good condition and free from any major issues.
  2. Protect Your Investment: Buying a home is one of the largest investments you will ever make, and it is essential to ensure that you are getting a good return on your investment. A home inspection will reveal any potential problems with the property, which will help you make an informed decision about whether or not to purchase the house.
  3. Negotiate Repairs: If the home inspection reveals any issues with the property, you can use this information to negotiate repairs with the seller. This can be a significant advantage, as it will give you the opportunity to address any problems before you move in and avoid any unexpected expenses down the road.
  4. Peace of Mind: A home inspection provides peace of mind, as it helps you make an informed decision about the property. You will know exactly what you are getting into, and you can be confident that you are making a good investment.
  5. Compliance with Building Codes: A home inspector will also check that the property is in compliance with local building codes and safety regulations. This is essential to ensure that the property is safe for you and your family to live in, and that it meets all necessary standards.
In conclusion, a home inspection is a crucial step in the process of buying a house, as it helps identify any potential issues with the property and protects your investment. It is essential to choose a qualified and experienced home inspector to ensure that you receive a thorough and accurate inspection. By taking this step, you can make an informed decision about the property and have peace of mind knowing that you are making a good investment.

One of our clients biggest concern in the winter is the condition of the roof on the property they are going to buy. There are limitations that come with living in Minnesota, such as winter and snow! No worries, we have you covered. We include drone inspections with our inspections.

Snow, ice, and freezing can cause significant damage to properties and again when the weather warms back up. Winter conditions can lead to water intrusion, damage to the roof, or issues with your homes foundation. Outside of the home, freezing and thawing can cause damage to a property’s paved sidewalks, concrete and brick siding. Some issues may not be immediately apparent until the spring, when temperatures heat back up and water begins moving again.

It’s important to identify plumbing problems, before they become expensive disasters. Winter weather can make it easier to check for drafts and test the heat and test your home for its efficiency.

Why have a sewer line inspection?

Reasons to have a sewer video inspection

  • To find out the exact place of a clog or issue in order to limit the amount of digging to fix a problem
  • Before purchasing a new home or property—understanding costly sewer issues before buying property can save you thousands of dollars
  • If your sewer line backs up twice within a two-year period—using video inspection equipment can determine whether you have a bigger problem that needs to be addressed
  • Before investing in a new rug or flooring in your basement

How sewer line video works

Video inspection involves inserting a tiny camera into your sewer line or drain. The camera is on the end of a long cable, just like the snake, so we’re able to run it down the line to find the problem.
We use video inspection equipment capable of searching up to 400 feet of line, working inside diameters as large as 10 inches and as small as 2 inches. The camera has a transmitter that sends a signal to a locator used above ground. This allows us to determine where the line is going as well as to pinpoint the exact location and depth of a problem area.

Digital record of inspection

When we use video inspection on a sewer line, we record what we see and can produce a digital USB copy of the procedure. This allows you to see the problem for yourself, and it allows us to provide an accurate, free estimate for your repair. In addition to keeping a digital USB copy of the inspection, you will also receive a report detailing potential problems, their severity and exact location.

Excavation and repair

Because we offer a full-service sewer and drain cleaning specialist, we can do all the necessary excavation and repairs to get your sewer or drains up and running. We may suggest a discounted preventive maintenance program to keep the line running. If the problem is more serious, we can excavate and repair or replace the line for you.
